Medical students will be sent for two weeks of credit to study high altitude and travel related medicine to the beautiful city of Chamonix France. Students will have a chance to learn about how high altitude affect the many people who visit this here and also have a chance to travel related medicine as well. Students will study and earn the AWLS certificate and hike the Inca trail and learn other important aspects of back country and high altitude medicine. They will travel with the wilderness medicine fellows from the University of Utah School of Medicine
Dates for 2016:
Tuesday July 12 to Saturday July 16th for the lectures
Sunday July 17 to Friday July 22 for the Tour du Mt. Blanc
The AWLS course is from Thursday April 14th to Saturday April 16th. Look at www.awls.org for details of the course. Your fee will be $250 to Wilderness Medicine of Utah
The hut to hut Tour du Mont Blanc trek is being staged by Wilderness Medicine of Utah. You can do this in addition to the course www.wmutah.org for detail of the trek.
